Question:
Connie Kotsios says she purchased a skin care product from one of the kiosks at Meadowood Mall in Reno but when she tried to return it, unopened, she was told that particular kiosk does not allow refunds.
Connie is elderly and says she needs the 75 dollars to buy medication.  But she was told by the vendor she could not get her money back.

Answer:
I called Meadowood Mall management about this.  Good news for Connie, once I mentioned what had happened the mall management contacted the vendor and the vendor has agreed to give Connie a full refund of her $75.
Other than that Stephanie Dolan who works in the marketing department for the mall would not comment.  I asked her what they think of vendors or retailers at the mall having a no-return policy and she said she could not comment on that.  I'm not sure why.
But she says they don't want customers to come away unhappy. So if you have a concern about a product or a purchase, contact the store where you made the purchase. If you strike out, go ahead and give us a call and we'll look into it.

I used to go every couple of months to get my eyebrows threaded at the mall but have stopped going because I went one day and waited about 10 minutes in the threading store over by Lenscrafters and after waiting I was told they were closing and they could not help me but if I really needed my eyebrows done that day I could go to the kiosk in the middle of the mall or I could come back another day. The crazy thing is it was 3:30 in the afternoon why was the store closing? I don't even think they have store hours posted but who closes at 3:30 in the afternoon? Obviously someone who doesn't want to keep customers or make any money. This was about 6 months ago and I will never go back again. I have went elsewhere and I am willing to pay more to get better service somewhere else.

LOL @ Freewayflyer... I haven't to the mall in about 11 years. Last time I was there I saw my husband (now EXHUSBAND) in the jewelry place and let me tell you he was not buying me anything...LOL. &^%$ that place, just reminds me of him. I know he didn't buy me anything because I patient waited a few months and my BDAY passed and NADA!!! LOL. But, yeah, glad the lady got her medication money:-)

There's a cure for this kind of behavior. It's called "Voting With Your FEET"! Meadowood isn't the only game in town...

Yeah they could be aggressive because almost all of them are on commission based sales and there is a huge percentage markup on almost all the items they are trying to market. That being said, never pay what they suggest...in other words low ball them to the extreme and you will probably get them to go way down almost 50% or more down from what they want. It works because they need to sell and the pressure will then be on them so that's where it should be and not on you the consumer. Remember LOW BALL THEM 70% less than what they want or simply say NO DEAL, and thank them for the free demo and head for the food court for more freebies!

I won't step foot in Meadow Wood Mall because of the kiosk vendors, they are rude and aggressive. Haven't shopped there in 10 years
