Question:
From the Ask Joe file one of our viewers has a question about some possible new development in Reno.
Bill Murphy wrote in asking what is going on at the old Kmart store on Summit Ridge?  He  says it looks like there have been contractor trucks there lately when he drives by and he wants to know if there is something in the works there?

Answer:
I checked with Rachel Kingham who is doing some public relations work work for the developer on the project.
Here's what I found out:  there is work going on at the old Kmart store on Summit Ridge in northwest Reno.   Very few details are being released at this point but the plans are to turn the old vacant building into a multi-vendor retail business.    That is, a number of different shops and restaurants located under one roof.
Part of the emphasis is going to be on helping new start up businesses get established there as well.
So that is part of the atmosphere they're hoping to create: a place where new businesses can get off the ground and a fun place for customers to shop and grab a bite to eat.
It's going to open sometime this year I'm told and we should be hearing more details very soon.
