Question:

From the Ask Joe file, a follow-up to a question we addressed on Tuesday about a Washoe County park that is not working.

Several viewers, Wendy, Stephany and Jeff all wrote in asking what Washoe County is doing to fix the splash pad water park in Cold Springs? They said it has not been working for quite a while.

Answer:

This is one of the quicker responses News 4 has been able to get. As of Tuesday, the county's Operations manager told Joe he was not sure how much repairs would cost after someone vandalized the water feature and play area at the park on Village Center Parkway.

On Wednesday, one of our viewers said repairs were underway. Joe received an e-mail from the county confirming they did replace a sensor for the water feature and the park is working again.

This is welcome news, considering how hot it is and we are all looking for a way to cool off. We are glad we were able to help get this problem fixed sooner, rather than later.

That park is brand new. Sad that someone vandalized it so soon. It's been down since June 1. Great to see it going again!

County had told me that " something" had been done to the pipes as well. So just a sensor huh? Had not functioned in over 2 years & the cost would be exorbitant . Took less than a day to fix. Just the threat of bad publicity was all that was needed. Way to work for the people Washoe County. . Thanks Joe!
