SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Independent investigations by several cities in California are continuing into the alleged patient dumping scandal surrounding the Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las Vegas.

Governor Sandoval has acknowledged 10 cases where patients were improperly discharged and bused one way, out of state.

Now, those destination cities are reaching out to try and identify more with a grassroots approach. Flyers are popping up at bus stops, homeless shelters, hospitals and even at the San Francisco City Attorney's office. The flyers are asking if anyone has been "dumped" as a patient from Nevada.

The lead investigator says this effort has already resulted in leads, and those leads may take this investigation to places outside Las Vegas and outside Nevada.

The number to call is 415-554-4253 if you have any leads.

In the end, Nevada could be sued and found financially liable for the care required to treat dumped patients.
