RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- 57 women make up the 95th Reno Rodeo's 2014 Flag Team and each member plays a vital role in the overall performance every night during the 10-day event. As News 4 continues to go behind the scenes of the Reno Rodeo it was time to find out more of what no rodeo is complete without, the Flag Team.

"It takes a lot of commitment on our part," Amber Koch, nine year veteran of the Reno Rodeo Flag Team. "I enjoy the Flag Team, because I've gotten to meet so many great people. I've  gotten to meet and enjoy a number of women from different walks of life and you get to spend time with them throughout the year."

The Flag Team is made up of experienced riders who have trained tirelessly along with their horses a routine they perform every night.

"You have to work with your horse to make sure they can be around banners, you can look around the arena and see that things are flying, and people are yelling in the stands it's all new things to them," Koch says.

However, once the horse has the routine down, Koch says, like her horse Misty, they have it down to a "T" and they are true professionals.

News 4's Alyx Sacks got to reunite with one of those true professionals, Boots. Sacks rode Boots for the first time last year during News 4 Today's Reno Rodeo coverage and this year they were back together for the live Flag Team Coverage Thursday morning.

Boots is a 9-year-old Mustang who's now in his second year performing in the Reno Rodeo apart of the Flag Team. Boots' owner Alexandra Rayppy has been apart of the Reno Rodeo Flag Team for the past few years and says Boots has really come into his own and she is very proud of him. Rayppy also says her and boots work very well together and they're like two peas in a pod.

Rayppy along with Boots can be seen holding the American Flag during ceremonies at the rodeo.
