SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The body found in Silver Springs on Aug. 2 has been identified as 20-year-old Amber Shay Jenkins. Due to the nature of the crime scene and evidence located on the body, it was determined that the cause of death was a homicide.

Later on the evening of Aug. 2, deputies made contact with Jenkins' boyfriend, and the primary person of interest in Ambers death, 34-year-old Timothy Ray Pennington, of Silver Springs.

On the morning of Aug. 3, Pennington’s father filed a report with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office that Pennington was possibly missing.

On Aug. 8, the body of a male adult was found at an abandoned local business on Indigo Road in Silver Springs, and on Aug. 9, the body was confirmed to be Pennington's. It appears he died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Lyon County Sheriff's Office.

This investigation is ongoing and any available information will be released when it is possible.

Anyone who may have information on this case can contact Detective Charles Beck at 775-577-5096 or after 5 pm at 775-577-5023.
