Brush fire contained on hill above Spanish Springs

UPDATE - 5:45PM - The fire is contained.

UPDATE - 3:38PM - According to our crew at the scene, the fire is at 15 acres now, but it's almost out.

UPDATE - 3:21PM - According to Moore, the fire is three acres, but fire crews are now able to drive in and fight it. There is also air attack coming from RAVEN.

Moore cautions this is not a huge incident, and that the fire is not threatening anything. He's not sure when it will be put out, but they have a "good handle" on it.

The cause is still unknown.

SPANISH SPRINGS, Nev. (KRNV & -- According to Truckee Meadows Fire Chief Charlie Moore, there is a brush fire burning on the hill above Spanish Springs.

Fire crews are en-route.

The fire might be on BLM land and might also require air resources.

Moore says it is unclear how big the fire is and how it started.

News 4 has a crew on the way and will bring you more information as it becomes available.

Brush fire above Spanish Springs ssems succinct, sounds all excited like it's 'breaking news', and U can add phrases like "totals 15 acres" or "whipped by winds" or now declared contained". And hey, "on hill above Spanish Springs"-now That's vague. I mean, Spanish Springs, isn't that just a local euphemism? isn't it mostly surrounded by hills? U gotta get out more
