RENO, Nev. (KRNV & Mynews4.com) -- After four years of brewing craft canned beers, Buckbean Brewing Company will be closing its doors February 29th.

Owner, Doug Booth, tells News 4 the sluggish economy and higher-than-projected cost eventually forced the Reno business to close.

Buckbean opened in April 2008, and several unique, specialty beers have been served in Northern Nevada bars, restaurants and grocery stores.

Booth says he is devastated, as its been a dream of his for more than twenty years to open a brewery in Reno. He hopes his loyal fans will come in for a last beer.

Buckbean Brewing Company is located on 1155 South Rock Blvd #490 in Reno.

What a tragedy and shame! I'm so sorry Doug for you and your dream. I feel sorry for you man and wish things could have worked out. The orange can was my favorite and many local folks celebrated your products and philosophy. I hope it doesn't sour you and that it doesn't end so easily. Dreams are never "over" Doug and because we might take a lickin' doesn't mean we can't come back and try again. We must stay true to our passion and keep going despite whatever may fall.
