RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Meredith O'Neill O'Flaherty, 41, was sentenced this morning as a habitual criminal. O'Neill pled guilty to burglary on Sept. 5, 2012 for residential burglary that occurred on Jul. 16, 2012, according to police. During the course of this burglary, the ashes of the victim's deceased husband were stolen as well as numerous pieces of jewelry.
Police say the cremains were ultimately recovered through the efforts of the Repeat Offender Program and returned to the grateful victim.
Prior to this offense, O'Flaherty had five felony convictions all within the State of Nevada. O'Flaherty received a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum sentence of 20 years.
