FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — The California Highway Patrol has issued an Amber Alert after a father from the Central California town of Empire allegedly abducted his two young children.

The CHP says 37-year-old Phillip Tumilty may be headed from Stanislaus County to Bakersfield after Friday morning's abduction. The Amber Alert has been issued for Stanislaus, Merced, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, Kern and Madera counties.

Tumilty is believed to be driving a 2001 Black Ford F-150 with the license plate 8W32929.

He is accused of nabbing 9-year-old Phillip Tumilty Jr. and 6-year-old Tiffany Tumilty.
