RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Cabela’s continues its free self-defense and personal protection seminar series this Saturday at 1 p.m. with the 90-minute ASAP (APEX Stay Alive Program) class and will also be conducting several free handgun, firearm safety and home defense classes both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during its annual NRA Weekend this Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday’s NRA Weekend schedule includes Concealed Carry Laws for Nevada at 10 a.m., How to Match Optics to a Firearm at 11 a.m. at the gun counter, How to Select a Handgun at noon, Proper Gun Cleaning at 1 p.m. in hunting, Tips on Bringing Youth into Shooting Sports at 2 p.m. in hunting and Home Firearms Safety at 3 p.m.
Sunday’s lineup includes Pistols Made Simple at 10 a.m., All About Gun Safes at 11 a.m. in hunting, Refuse to be a Victim at noon, Comfortable Clothing for Concealed Carry at 1 p.m. in camo clothing, Home Defense Shotguns at 2 p.m. and Home Defense Strategies at 3 p.m. All classes will be an hour or less and most will be held in the conference rooms, unless noted.
New or renewing members of the NRA will receive a $25 Cabela’s gift card during the weekend if they become a member or renew their membership at the store with NRA volunteers.
The ASAP self-defense seminar is conducted by APEX Security Consulting Firm founder Jeff May and is 90-minutes long beginning at 1 p.m. The initial class January 26 had over 75 folks in a standing-room only format in Cabela’s conference rooms located just past the Big Horn Grill. No pre-registration is required.
