California Lottery Mega Millions reaches record-setting jackpot

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The California Lottery Mega Millions jackpot has now reached $400 million, making it the third largest Mega Millions jackpot of all time, and the seventh largest U.S. jackpot ever. The estimated cash option is $224.8 million.

If someone in California wins, the $400 million prize would also become the second largest jackpot in California history.

Odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 259 million. Overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 15.

The winning numbers will be drawn on Tuesday at 8 p.m. PST.

This isn't the California lottery, the winning tickets were out of state.
