ckastens, you are out of line and a bit over dramatic. She killed herself, blame her if you feel you need to be mad at someone. All news 4 did was report what happened. It's obvious you feel sad, but geez.

To all those who accuse Channel 4 of "smearing" the legacy or reputation of this woman; why do you think that suicide is such a dirty thing that it would smear anyone. Suicide is an act of pain that has the potential to affect each of you. It is not dirty, nasty, demeaning or something to be ashamed of. It is sad that a person; no matter what the age, history or standing feels so helpless, hopeless or sad that they felt that was their only option. My condolences to the family, do not let the manner or death be the factor in which one judges character. She was loved, admired and held a worth beyond actions...Instead of condemning; reach out and always be available to a friend or family who needs anything; kindness, words, hugs, love....Death is a very tricky, unpleasant subject..TO Those WHO HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED those who have; it is life that is now changed, a tribute to those loved and lost...suicide, accident, disease, empty heart is what you take from this..not how it happened or how you found out about it...Channel 4 could have been dismissive, but they were compassionate in reporting...stop being outraged and be humble and grateful you still have family or friends... <3

Regardless of the cause of death you are disgusting channel 4 news. How can you even sleep tonight? I grew up in Carson City and she was my middle school math teacher. I now live in a big city and it saddens me to come home and see this kind of garbage coming out of a wonderful city like Reno. You should be so ashamed. This is mean and heartless. Let the woman rest in peace! You have no empathy or respect for this woman her family or her friends.

Mesa police said it appeared to be a suicide. News 4 just reported what the police said.I'm sure that if it turns out to be something else,News 4 will report on it.Why would you want News 4 NOT to report the facts as they were told to them?

She was happy and visiting her children and brand new grand baby girl for Spring break and Easter. Her every living breath revolved around her children. She would have never left them without a note telling them not to be sad or that it wasn't their fault. I just cancelled my silver Charter Cable package because I thought I only need basic cable in order to watch the local news. Now I don't even want to watch the local news any longer. I personally know people at at Channel 4. I will be in touch and I'm sure we can expect a retraction here shortly.

Didn't know her but finding her in Mesa, Arizona all the way from Carson City sounds a little strange to me. Something doesn't sound right. There should be a bigger investigation instead of ASSUMING.

I am appalled as well. Suicide is a very strong word to use without all the facts. Debbie gave more than any human power could. She is greatly missed. She touched so many lives in a positive way. This is a true tragedy. Debbie is an enormous amount of love, kindness, selflessness and inspiration. Those of us that knew her the most know and feel in the deepest of our our hearts that this was a complete accidental tragedy and that is how we will remember her. Shame on this story! Rest in peace Debbie. God bless and comfort all the lives you touched. I love you and will always be with you, my dearest friend.

I disagree. Eceryone has a right to their own opinion. I had her as a math teacher and knowing a theory makes me feel better than not knowing at all. Dont point fingers. Geez
