CHURCHILL COUNTY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Howard Shell, the man missing in the Fallon area since July 25th, was found deceased today.
Shell was found approximately three miles northwest of the location where he was last seen alive by a horseback rider. He was found Wednesday by a jogger and her dog while they were out exercising. There were no obvious signs of foul play at the scene, according to Churchill County Sheriff Ben Trotter. An autopsy is pending.
CHURCHILL COUNTY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- According to the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office, a man has been deemed missing -- his family reports he has been missing for several days.
Howard Shell has been entered in as a missing subject by the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office. Family members tell News 4 Shell's car was found out in the desert, but he was not found with it. According to the family, he has been missing for 7 days.
The Churchill County Sheriff's Office said Shell's vehicle was located Friday, July 25th stuck in the sand south of Powerline Road southwest of Fallon, according to a recent press release.
45-year-old Shell was last seen the morning of Saturday, July 26, 2014 by a horseback rider. When the rider asked if he needed help, Shell replied saying he did not need anybody's help. The Sheriff's Office has been searching the area for several days, and has also utilized the Sheriff's Office SAR pilot while looking for the missing man.
When last seen, Shell was thought to have been traveling north along a canal, according to a press release. Howard is being described as a white male, about 5'9" tall and weighing over 200 pounds.
