MINDEN, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- This morning, Nevada Highway Patrol tended to a crash that resulted in serious injuries on U.S. 395 at Airport Road three miles north of Minden.

The investigation details indicate that a brown Chevrolet was on Airport Road attempting to travel south on US 395. A white Toyota driven by Jason Michael Derrer, a 28-year-old Gardnerville resident, was traveling northbound on US 395. NHP says the single occupant in the brown Chevrolet failed to yield and pulled out in front of the white Toyota. The Toyota hit the Chevrolet in the left side of the vehicle.

The driver of the Chevrolet was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight with serious injuries. Northbound traffic was temporarily detoured while emergency crews worked the accident. All lanes are open now.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who can provide additional information, is encouraged to contact Department of Public Safety-Communications Center @ (775) 687-0400 regarding case # NHP-130104268.

yeah, you would think that all the "Officials" that we all voted into office or back into office could address this "murdersection",, I drive that 395 everyday and you bet that my foot is real close to the brake pedal at that intersection. I am more than willing to stop at a LIGHT than stop at the ER

People don't seem to know how to yield around these parts. The speed limit is 65 through there. You can't just pull out in front of a fast moving vehicle and expect them to avoid hitting you. I see this time and time again at this same intersection.
