Deadly crash on Maple and Sierra St.

Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- A father in his mid-forties driving his two small children is dead this evening, March 31st, 2013, after running a red light.

Reno Police say after running a red light the man caused an accident at the intersection of Maple and Sierra St. in downtown Reno.

The two children were four and six years old they suffered minor injuries. Officers say the family was from the Bay are and were visiting for the holiday.

Reno Police and Nevada Highway Patrol as well as medical personnel have responded to the crash, and report that the driver was in a small Hyundai, ran a red light, and was hit by a car holding three passengers in their mid-twenties.

The three passengers passed sobriety test and were released. There are a number of street closures in the vicinity.

they were working to repair the damage there Monday morning; a fence torn out and one-way sign tipped over (though likely by a too-wide truck some previous time). Y can't they cut a right-turn lane for off-ramping from 80 onto Sierra here? cars get stuck behind someone headin' east on Maple. Y?-because one clueless driver ran the light, right?
