RENO, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help in an investigation into a woman who was wandering along U.S. Highway 395 north of Reno trying to flag down cars on the night before Thanksgiving.

Investigators say it may have appeared to some that she was trying to jump in front of passing cars in the North Valleys.

The woman was spotted walking between the Red Rock Road and White Lake Parkway exits about 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 27.

The sheriff's office says it is not releasing information about her identity due to the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 775-328-3320 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
