It is a shame. I was a licensed foster/adoptive family in Washoe County for 2 years and NEVER had a child(ren) placed in my home. As a matter of fact, I was even denied children because I did not have suffient experience with fetal alcohol syndrome even though I had the time, money, and willingness to gain additional training and provide any special care required. All the while they continue to place children in the care of unqualified persons who were unable to pay their bills and in some cases committing criminal acts. So tell me, are they really in desperate need for qualify loving, caring, capable homes?

Break up siblings so they can be adopted out. Let's stop importing children from overseas and take care of our own. Siblings can reconnect and even stay in contact--stop treating "separation" as a trauma and the kids will adjust.

there is a group home up the street from me. i know this because somewhat disabled kids stop by my house and ask for rides or for bus fare (sometimes to a casino). this pathetic county is rife with neglect!
