UPDATE 5:15 p.m.:
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, they responded to a despondent female at 1:16 p.m. in the area of Squires Dr. in the Johnson Lane subdivision of Minden. The female armed herself with a firearm, threatened to commit suicide and barricaded herself in the garage.
Sheriff's Office Personnel and CNT (Crisis Negotiation Team) have responded to the area, in hopes of a peaceful resolution to this situation. No one has been injured in the incident so far and access to the area has been blocked.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Douglas County Sheriff Deputies are at the scene of a possibly armed woman at a home on Squires St. in Minden.
Sgt. Pat Brooks says that Sheriff Deputies received the call around 2 p.m. this afternoon of a suicidal woman possibly armed with a gun at a home on Squires St. near Johnson Lane. The Douglas County SWAT team is on scene as a precaution and deputies have blocked off an area of the street as a precaution.
