Elko, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Elko police report that a suspected drunk driver crashed into a storefront earlier today.

At around 8:30 am on Saturday, March 2nd, a suspected drunk driver drove through the intersection of 5th and Idaho, lost control and crashed through the front window of Blohm Jewelers. According to a witness, the black pickup was speeding and slammed into the storefront while attempting to turn north on 5th.

Police have identified the suspect in this case as Swinger Jesse of Elko, who was found a short distance from the scene. Workers with the store say that no one was inside during the crash, but the crash did cause thousands of dollars in damages to the store's jewels.

According to initial reports, a passenger also apparently fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
