UPDATE 11:20 P.M. -- Gale was wanted for failing to appear on federal charges related to possession with intent to distribute meth.
UPDATE 8:45 P.M. -- A Sparks woman is behind bars tonight, facing federal drug charges - but she's didn't give up easily. Police say Karen Gale locked herself inside a trailer with a knife when U.S. Marshals and Washoe County Sheriff's Deputies tried to serve her with a felony arrest warrant. The standoff lasted three hours and shut down Sullivan Lane right next to Sparks Middle School. In the end negotiators were able to convince gale to surrender. Gale was booked into the Washoe County jail as she waits her initial court appearance on the felony drug charges.
UPDATE - 6:10P - Sparks Police says the streets that were blocked off (Sullivan, Byrd and Wedekind) are being reopened and the scene is now secure. Our crew on the scene says it was a female suspect that surrendered. We'll have more information in our 11pm newscast.
UPDATE - 4:41P - A SWAT team is on scene at a residence in on Sullivan Lane and guns are drawn. The home in question is on Sullivan Lane just south of Kelly Ranch Drive.
