LAS VEGAS (AP) — A fire has engulfed a shuttered Las Vegas casino.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Timothy R. Szymanski said the fire was reported shortly after 3 p.m.

FOX5 reports that four fire engines responded to the fire at the site of the old Quality Inn Key Largo casino east of the Strip. White smoke could be seen from several miles away.

The casino-hotel on the corner of East Flamingo and Paradise roads has been closed since 2005.

Officials could not say whether anyone has been hurt in the blaze.
