HAWTHORNE, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The 12,000 acres Spring Peak Fire has crossed east into California and is now within three miles of Bodie State Historical Park, according to Sierra Front.

Public access to the park is being closed this evening. State Route 270 will be closed tonight. The historical mining town of Aurora is threatened.

The fire is reported to be threatening high tension powerlines that could impact services outside this area. A voluntary evacuation remains in place for the Borealis and Esmeralda Mines, according to Sierra Front.
