SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Sparks firefighters put out a brush fire east of Pyramid Highway and north of Sparks Boulevard around 4pm today.

The first fire company on scene found a brush fire of approximately 1,000 square feet in size. The fire was in light fuels – a mixture of grass and sagebrush, and burning towards a drainage ditch. Luckily, no structures were threatened, Sparks Fire Department says.

The crews put the fire out within 10 minutes.

Sparks Fire Department says the official cause of the fire was some juveniles playing with matches and intentionally igniting the sagebrush.
