First 2014 New Year's baby born at Saint Mary's

RENO, Nev. (, KRNV & AP) — The area's first baby born in 2014 arrived three minutes into the new year at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Hospital officials say that the 7-pound, 5-ounce boy was born at 12:03 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials say the parents, Jenny Sofa and Julio Mendoza, are excited for their first child.

Renown Regional Medical Center says its first baby of the year was delivered at 12:29 a.m.
