RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A hidden gold mine will pay about $800,000 in Nevada taxes and fees.

Approximately 135 pounds of Walter Samaszko Jr.'s gold coins were auctioned off in a courtroom today.

The reclusive man died in his Carson City home last year, leaving behind most of his fortune to first cousin and substitute teacher, Arlene Magdanz. The auctioned gold has generated $3.5 million.
