SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The identities of the police officer and the person who hit his vehicle yesterday have been released.

Nevada Highway Patrol says the incident happened around 4:00pm yesterday at the intersection of East McCarran Boulevard and Glendale Avenue when 39-year-old Cathy Endo was driving a brown 1992 Honda Accord and failed to yield. Daniel Woyciehowsky, 36, was driving a Sparks Police Department’s Emergency Vehicle, with its lights and sirens activated. The Honda entered into a locked wheel skid in attempt to avoid collision with the marked patrol vehicle, but hit the Patrol Vehicle’s right side, causing both vehicles to rotate counter clockwise before stopping, according to NHP.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash.

The southbound lanes of East McCarran Blvd. were closed for approximately 1 hour.
