Ely, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)--Officials are investigating after the death of an inmate at the Ely State Prison around noon on November 17th.
According to a press release from the Nevada Department of Corrections, inmate Winston Kelly was found unresponsive in his cell at 11 a.m. He was then taken to William Bee Ririe Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:12. The Coroner's office has requested the right to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause Kelly's death.
Kelly was 38 and serving a life sentence for first degree murder, robbery and use of a deadly weapon enhancement.
