UPDATE: News 4’s Ben Briscoe spoke with the Humboldt County Chief Deputy District Attorney Kevin Pasquale late Tuesday afternoon. He tells Ben there are allegations of personal issues between the Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office.

Pasquale says at first glance it does not appear to be a criminal issue but he added, “you never know what investigators are going to turn up.”

Pasquale says the allegations were made a few weeks ago and it appears to only involve one person from each department. He says the investigation is likely to be completed by tomorrow and more information on the situation may be released soon.

I have had the worst experience in winnemucca. I agree with the people that think there is something wrong with the police department. They accept bribes. They are crooks. Including judges, and the cops office. I am still dealing with a case in that city but I truly believe that justice will come. People, make sure you take your cases out of winnemucca. The whole system is trash.

Personaly I truly believe that there is something not right with the Winnemucca PD. I would not doubt one bit that there are crooks in the department and the reason im saying this is because do the lack of cooperation involving a tragedy of my own. I called numerous times and tried to get reports and yet I was totaly ignored. I truly believe that that department should be investigated. I must say that the Winnemucca PD is the worsed I have ever seen in my life!!!

thank you for updating this story by actually sending someone out to ask questions. trust me, our good old boys club doesnt need any uneccessary help making our town look like a bunch of backwoods rednecks, they do a fantastic job of that on thier own, so again thank for reinvestigating and showing that its not entire agencies this time, just a couple of jerk offs that probably had it out for each other in high school.

retired. have you seen super troopers? im pretty sure it was based on winnemucca agencies bickering like a bunch of kindergarteners. and the more i think about it, the more i hope this little news story does cause some sort of bigger investigation. hahaha maybe we can get 60 minutes back to town. i mean they arent abusing bums this time (i dont think) they are acting like morons and abusing taxpaying citizens!

muccagal, I agree! It is embarassing that our local law enforcement go at each other the way they do! Both agencies need a complete overhaul!

retired, i agree that kilgore is an idiot who couldnt manage his way out of a wet papersack, much less a police force, but whos worse? the pd chief who employs cops going to jail over horrible crimes, or kilgore, last i checked he hasnt had any officers go to jail. its sad that news 4 chose this miniscule incident to cover, but in total, i do believe both agencies need to be investigated, and some serious house cleaning needs to be done. as i mentioned before ive been victimized by one officer, i wont name him but he is pd, and after i lodged a complaint about a nurse at the hospital, who was exhibiting inappropriate behavior with 2 other nurses i did not recognize, he shows up on my doorstep demanding my phone, he tells me ive been harassing one of these women (the one i didnt know) he goes on to badger me about this as im telling him i dont know this broad, he then turns to my fiance and demands his phone, nearly bulls his way into my house and screams in my face. he leaves, he then comes back 2 hours later screaming in my face about some guy running out of my apartment that ive never heard of as well. i have since discovered that his actions were out of line and should have been reported, unfortunately, im scared of the pd, so i never reported. there are issues that should be dealt with, but this news story isnt one.

Channel 4 news wouldn't even be aware of this crap if the Humboldt Co. Sheriff's Dept. didn't tell them that Washoe Co. is investigating it!! Humboldt Co. Sheriff Kilgore is a whiner and loser!!

While they're at it, they should stop through and investigate the Fernley Sheriff's Department as well. Good old small town corruption amongst a hoard of good ol' boys. That's why I stay in the city of Reno, no city is perfect and officers are human like all of us, but I have far more respect for the men and women of the RPD and the conduct of their department.

Sheriff Furlong makes great decisions. Can't even imagine misconduct tolerated there.
