MINERAL COUNTY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Mineral County School District and police are investigating a threat made toward a Mineral County school teacher.

Mineral County School District Superintendent Chris Schultz said threats are taken very seriously and precautions are being implemented to protect students and staff.

Mineral County Sheriff Stewart Handte said the report was filed yesterday, and it was taken immediately to the District Attorney’s Office to investigate. Handte said the incident popped up on Facebook on March 28.

Handte said the student is no longer in school, but he cannot release his name because the student is a juvenile. The sheriff also said that the threat was "very specific." Handte is going to be meeting with the students at the school on Friday to talk about threats and social media.

The DA isn't sure if he will prosecute? How can that be? Will he wait until a teacher is dead to do his job? The threat was posted on Facebook - and the kid sought the means to commit the act (texting another student for a gun). Does Mineral County just hate teachers?

It is time to stop "molly coddling" children. Let's have the name of this miscreant, as well as his parents.
