RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- MidTown is an up and coming business district in Reno, and another local store recently made the move there.

It's a combination of Papyrus and Anthropologie; that's how owner Laura Romero describes Paper Moon.

After more than eight years in business, they're having a grand re-opening in a new location.

"We wanted to expand, make Paper Moon the place we always knew it could be," Romero said.

She said there was only one place she and her husband wanted to grow their business.

"We were hoping for MidTown," Romero said. "We weren't really looking anywhere else."

Romero said that's because the new neighborhood could draw in younger shoppers and tourists.

"It's one of those places that everybody wants to go," she said.

Reno City Councilwoman Jenny Brekhus said the momentum is encouraging.

"You've seen a lot of private investment come into MidTown by a lot of different players, whether it's on real estate improvements or business operators," Brekhus said.

She said this is happening near Riverside Drive and 4th Street too.

"You're seeing just a lot more energy of building urban cores and eventually we will get to having our downtown be as thriving also," Brekhus said.

But right now, Romero said they're celebrating MidTown.

"We wanted to bring the attention that Paper Moon, another established business, was opening in MidTown," she said.

The party will feature food and drinks from other MidTown businesses. So if you've never been to Paper Moon, or really explored the neighborhood, Romero said this is the perfect opportunity.

"It's free," Romero said. "It's a community event. We're celebrating MidTown. We're celebrating the economy getting better, and the whole store is 20 percent off, so why not."
