Lyon County Deputies arrest wanted burglary suspect

FERNLEY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Lyon County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man who had been wanted for burglary, only after he led them on a chase that ended in him crashing his motorcycle.

Today around 4am, a deputy saw a subject on a motorcycle at a parking lot in East Fernley. The deputy recognized the motorcyclist as a suspect in a recent burglary in the Fernley area. The subject, later identified as Troy Nelson, 27, of Silver Springs, spotted the deputy and fled through the parking lot.

The motorcycle was spotted on a side street and the deputy began chasing him. The vehicle pursuit ended a short time later, after the motorcycle crashed. The deputy apprehended Nelson after a short foot chase.

Upon taking Nelson into custody the deputy observed that Nelson had injured his leg and immediately called for medical services. Nelson was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Once released, Nelson will be booked for Burglary, Eluding, Possession of Methamphetamine. Nelson also has warrants for burglary, drug possession and domestic battery.
