STAGECOACH, Nev. (KRNV & Mynews4.com) -The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has an update on the condition of the victim and suspect who were involved in a shooting on February 28th, located at the 5000 block of Desert Lane, in Stage Coach.
According to a release today, the victim, 66 year-old Sherry Robustelli of Stage Coach is currently in stable condition at Renown Medical Center in Reno. The suspect, 70 year-old Joseph Robustelli of Stage Coach is currently in ICU at Renown Medical Center.
On Thursday, Lyon County Sheriff Deputies responded to the residence after receiving a 911 call of a woman being shot at 10pm last night. Upon arrival deputies tell News 4 they found a female subject in the front yard of a residence with an apparent gunshot wound to her upper chest. The deputies moved her to a safe location and called for medical assistance.
The deputies then approached the residence and were confronted by a male subject wielding a rifle. The subject was given numerous commands to drop the rifle and after ignoring these commands, raised the rifle and pointed it at the deputy. The deputy shot the man, called for medical assistance, and the subject was taken to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
The deputy was not injured and has been placed on paid administration leave, which is standard protocol for an officer involved shooting.
The investigation is still on-going according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, and they say they will release further information as it is provided.
