SPRAKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Sparks Police have arrested a man for kidnapping, false imprisonment and domestic battery. Justin Lewis Lauderdale was arrested Monday afternoon after his girlfriend escaped and went to the Northern Nevada Medical Center. According to the victim Lauderdale had been beating her since the night before.
On 11-10-13 at 9:46 p.m. the Sparks Police Department responded to Paul’s Market located at Vance Way in Sparks on the report of man beating a woman in the parking lot and forcing her into a car.
When officers arrived, they couldn’t locate the victim or suspect and received information the male took the female from the area against her will in a gold Ford Taurus. Officers were unable to identify the vehicle or parties involved in the incident that evening and had no further information.
On 11-11-13 at approximately 3:00 p.m. officers were called the Northern Nevada Medical center for a woman who reported to have been battered, falsely imprisoned and abducted by her boyfriend. The investigation revealed the female reporting the incident was in fact the same victim from the assault that occurred on the previous day at Paul’s Market. The woman was found to have multiple injuries on her head, face and body consistent with the assault described by her and witnesses. The victim reported that the suspect drove her to Reno where he continued to hold her captive against her will and beat her. The suspect then held the victim captive until the morning hours of 11-11-13, when she was able to leave the Lauderdale with the assistance of a family member. The woman also described that the assault at Paul’s Market was temporarily interrupted by several male subject s in a white vehicle that observed the occurrence and verbally ordered the suspect to leave the victim “alone”.
The suspect, identified as Justin Lauderdale, was located in the gold Ford Taurus and was placed into custody. Evidence located in Lauderdale’s vehicle further corroborated the victim and witness accounts of the assault.
Lauderdale was booked on the charges of Kidnapping, False Imprisonment and Domestic Battery.
