SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A Sacramento man faces federal charges after prosecutors say he bought guns in Nevada that he sold to a gang member in California.

Federal authorities on Tuesday arrested 27-year-old Dejon Andrade on suspicion of illegally dealing firearms, interstate travel with intent to unlawfully deal in firearms and other charges.

U.S. Attorney Benjamin Wagner says Andrade was barred from buying guns in California because he is on parole, so he instead used fake identification on federal firearm purchase forms to get them in Reno, Nev.

In February police in Elk Grove said they arrested a known gang member and recovered a .40-caliber pistol that Andrade had purchased in Reno a month earlier.

Investigators say they found two other guns at Andrade's Sacramento home that were also purchased in Reno.

Lots of info on Commie Liberal Capitol Public Radio just yesterday. An informed source (college-educated0 said that in most states, the "straw purchase' statutes are loosely written, so that it isn't worth going after violators despite really stiff potential sentences (State/Federal). it takes a task Force (think ATF scandal) and/or new laws (Colo. Corrections chief murdered on the same day as passage) to halt this huuuuge loophole.

I too like to see this type of crime covered by the media. What a lower life form to buy for illegal use. Hope the charges can bring a looooong prison sentence.
