Man arrested in Winnemucca for carjacking

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- A San Mateo fugitive allegedly involved in a carjacking spree and kidnapping was arrested in Winnemucca.

According to Winnemucca Police, 20-year-old Oakland resident Armando Mendoza was arrested July 25th in connection with a January carjacking spree that took place in San Mateo County, California. Officials located Mendoza's vehicle in a Walmart parking lot and arrested him.

Mendoza has been extradited to the San Mateo County jail and charged with fugitive from justice. He remains in custody without bail.
