CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A man has been arrested for felony drug possession and trafficking.
Carson City Sheriff's Department says the incident happened on Feb. 8 around 10 am. A patrol officer was driving north on Northgate Lane in Carson when he saw a 2010 Chevy Impala that didn't have front license plate driving south. The officer says he recognized the driver, Eduardo Segura, from previous arrests for false identification and lack of a driver's license. The officer says he also knew that Segura had been sentenced to prison after a Carson City shooting, resulting in his deportation to Mexico.
The officer also says he concluded the car was not registered to Segura. The owner of the vehicle said he had allowed Segura to drive the vehicle, resulting in the owner being given a traffic citation allowing an unlicensed driver to drive his car.
The officer says he stopped the vehicle Segura was drving in a Quik Stop parking lot. Segura did not have a driver's license. Police began to search Segura and found a plastic bag containing 14 grams of methamphetamine.
Segura was booked for felony possession of a controlled substance, felony trafficking of a controlled substance, no valid driver's license and improper license plate display.
