PLACERVILLE, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says a man was found injured and later died after being found in a Placerville road.
On Saturday, Apr. 13 around 4:20am, El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies responded to a suspicious circumstance involving a male laying on Sand Ridge Road.
When deputies arrived at the location, they say they found a 17-year-old male in critical condition. Emergency Medical personnel arrived and transported the boy to Marshal Hospital where he later died.
Deputies say his identity is being withheld at this time pending further investigation.
The young man reportedly left the area of Gopher Hole Road on foot early that morning. Detectives were advised that the young man was walking toward a friend's house on Sand Ridge Road, prior to being discovered injured and laying on the roadway.
Deputies say his injuries were consistent with being hit by a car, but at this time the cause of his injuries has not been determined.
