Man in critical condition after bicycle crash

WINGFIELD SPRINGS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A 64-year-old man is in critical condition after injuring himself on his bicycle in the 3400 block of 10 Mile Drive in Wingfield Springs.

Sparks Police got the call regarding the unconscious bicyclist around 12pm today. Sparks Police found the man had significant head injuries. REMSA transported the victim to Renown Medical where he is in ICU and is listed in critical condition.

The victim is 64, 5'11"-6' 1" tall and approximately 230lbs. He has grey hair and was wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt. He was riding a green 26" Schwinn mountain bike and was wearing a silver bicycle helmet.

At approximately 3:15pm the Sparks Police Department received a phone call from a female advising she was looking for her husband. The female is believed to be the wife of the victim. The female is responding to the hospital to meet with officers and hopefully identify the victim.

At this time it is unknown what caused the crash and officers continue to investigate. If anyone has any information regarding this investigation please contact the Sparks Police Department at 775-353-2231.
