WEST WENDOVER, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A man tried to escape through a police car window before ultimately being arrested for drug charges in West Wendover.

Police were chasing 24-year-old Salt Lake City resident John A. Ramirez-Juarez yesterday morning after he failed to stop for a stop sign on Wendover Boulevard.

Police say he pulled into the Wendover Peppermill parking lot, where he was handcuffed and put in the police car. Police say he then used an unlocked window to climb through the back of the car and onto the street before officers apprehended him again.

Ramirez-Juarez is charged with eluding a police officer, escape from custody, expired registration, failure to stop at stop sign and possession of drug paraphernalia.
