UPDATE (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A mishap in the Washoe County Sheriff's Office booking system has led to some confusion surrounding the man who killed local sportscaster JK Metzker.
Back in September, Ryan Rhea was sentenced to probation for up to five years for the felony hit and run death of JK Metzker. He later pleaded guilty in Justice Court to misdemeanor driving under the influence in the same case.
In Wednesday's booking report, it states Rhea was arrested for violating his probation; however, Assistant District Attorney Elliot Satler tells News 4 there was some confusion in the way the booking report was written. Satler says Rhea did not do anything wrong and no arrest was made.
He explains Rhea willingly reported to jail Wednesday to serve a sentence for the misdemeanor drunken driving charge surrounding the death of JK Metzker -- a count he had not yet been booked for.
According to Deputy Armando Avina, Rhea was at the Washoe County Jail for about five hours. He was released on his own recognizance.
