SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The City of South Lake Tahoe, along with multiple local agencies, will be participating in a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) training on Monday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. The MCI training will include a scenario of a major plane crash at Lake Tahoe Airport with multiple causalities.
With the support of California Governor Brown’s support, the City of South Lake Tahoe says a C130 plane will be landing at the airport. Police vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, helicopters, and streets department vehicles will all be responding in this planned emergency response training exercise. The City is asking that residents do not call 911, as this is a planned emergency training.
The purpose of this MCI training is to further elevate the emergency preparedness by employing realistic scenarios with reliable and accurate outcome measures for all responding agencies.
