GALENA, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Washoe County Sheriff's PIO Bob Harmon tells News 4 the young girl was found safely by two citizen search rescuers.
According to authorities, she was found two miles away from her home on a hill near radio towers.
Undersheriff Tim Kuzanek said it was really a community effort to find the child. "It is pretty rough terrain, its very hilly, lots of rocks, lots of sagebrush, and she's only four so she's not that tall. She wasn't really any taller than most of the sagebrush that was up there anyway, so again, we're just very excited very happy, great outcome."
"Everybody came together and and made this successful for all of us."
Harmon said other than some minor scratches from a typical hike, she is healthy and safe with her family.
