RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A missing person from Pennsylvania has sparked a search across the nation.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, 37-year-old Susan Bachman has been missing since July 4, when she jumped out of a moving vehicle. Her parents said they were taking her to a mental hospital when she escaped.

Bachman was sighted by a security guard at a truck stop near Gary, Indiana on July 11. They say she had allegedly hitched a ride with a truck driver and was trying to get a ride westbound on Interstate 80.

Police describe Susan as a 37-year-old white female, 5-4, 140 pounds, with freckles, green eyes, and red hair.

Her parents are driving west on Interstate 80, and will be in Reno on Friday.
