More than 33-pounds of drugs seized in traffic stop

ELKO, Nev. (KENV) -- (Elko) - The Elko County Sheriff's Office seized 33 pounds of suspected marijuana from a California driver after a traffic stop on I-80 Wednesday.

According to Undersheriff Clair Morris, suspect Kevin Santos, 24, told the deputy who stopped him for speeding that he was headed to the Saturday game at the University of Utah. The officer detected the odor of marijuana and discovered 30 bags of drugs.

Santos was booked into the Elko County Jail on suspicion of various drug counts with bail at $15,235.
