RENO, Nevada (AP) -- A mother and her youngest child have been discharged from a Nevada hospital a day after being rescued with four other group members from a bitter cold mountain wilderness.

Doctors said Wednesday the father and three other young members of the couple's families who spent two days in sub-zero temperatures also are doing well but will remain for observation at a hospital in Lovelock about 100 miles northeast of Reno.

Dr. Douglas Vacek said some members of the group suffered from slight exposure and dehydration, but none had frost bite. He credited James Glanton with keeping alive his girlfriend, Christina McIntee, their two children and a niece and a nephew of McIntee.

Vacek says the 34-year-old mine worker and hunter built a fire just minutes after their Jeep rolled down a snowy embankment on Sunday and kept it going until rescuers found them about noon Tuesday.

I agree with goodrich, This guy was a stupid irresponsible idiot for having that many people in a jeep!! And to go out into the boonies to play in the snow in sub zero temps!! There was snow all over the state why not stay closer to home! Quit praising him and he should have his butt chewed for what occurred!!!! Absolutely nothing will happen from local law enforcement in Pershing County because he is a good ole boy local and to them a hero!!! He probably got the idea of heating rocks from watching survivor man!! Lol

Excuse me... but there were not enough seat belts for 6 passengers in that vehicle. What were the "adults" thinking, taking four children under 10 into the hopelessly freezing environment? This looks like a carefully scripted self-rescue to me! Did the driver roll the Jeep on purpose? He is definitely not a "hero", so you can cut that crap. I am extremely glad that everyone survived, don't get me wrong, but the authorities need to look into child endangerment charges and vehicular misuse (Hello CPS, NHP).
