CARSON CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong has been re-elected and will not need to face another candidate in the November general election.

Carson City is unique in that -- if a candidate in any race receives 50 percent plus one vote or more -- he or she is automatically elected to the position and will not have to run in the general election. Sheriff Furlong won the race with just over 60 percent of the vote.

Here is how the votes stacked up:
KENNETH FURLONG - 60.37%
DANIEL GONZALES - 21.64%
DON GIBSON - 16.97%
LORNE R. HOULE - 1.02%
