I really love that the NHP is recognizing the people who stop and render assistance in a situation;people like this often do this, and when officers are on the scene, the others quietly leave, unrecognized for their efforts. It's high time they're lauded for their generous, good hearted actions. After a tragedy like this, seeing a kind face is really a comfort to those involved. I hope more drivers find time and find the compassion to step up and do what's right when accidents like this happen. I too was in an accident several years ago and was tended to by people who could easily have changed lanes and driven past, but they stopped and helped . I can honestly say they may have saved my life, getting me out of my car which was leaking gasoline from a ruptured gas tank. It could easily have caught fire or exploded. I'll always be grateful for their kindness.
