RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada authorities say they're trying to determine whether a California man's anger over complications he suffered from a 2010 surgery prompted him to go on a shooting rampage at a urologist's office, killing one doctor and critically wounding another before committing suicide.

Reno detectives say they're working to obtain the medical records of 51-year-old Alan Oliver Frazier to learn more about his physical condition and mental health before the shooting.

Police Lt. William Rulla says Frazier made it clear in a suicide note he planned the attack at that specific physician's office.

Investigators have refused to specify the kind of surgery Frazier had or say whether those doctors were involved with the operation.

A couple who lived across the street from Frazier said he frequently complained about pain he suffered from what he claimed was a botched vasectomy.

Any info they post will be from 3rd party because under LAW yes LAW a man could have had a surgery done by a Urologist that was not a vasectomy.... They use the "Neighbors say" to get around hipaa

stop yer tirades. This Nv4 Website has another story in which they state 'it isn't clear' if the Dr. was the one that did the surgery. i pay attention, & find the clueless reporting a bore. Look at the "lead" above, they're "trying to determine" if he was angry over this issue. There are multiple stories with partial info, like the "neighbors say" he had a 'botched' vasectomy. Hearsay, I say.

I had a vasectomy in 1988 and I would have to say it was one of the easiest procedures I have had done. Took about 20 mins. in the Dr. office. Was a little sore for a day or two and that was that. If he suffered all this time with this why didn't he hire an attorney and sue? Obviously some mental issues going on!

If you've paid any sort of attention you would know the doctor who died was a "Urologist"!

I think it was stated in an earlier update the Dr. was a urologist.
