RENO, Nev. (KRNV & --  After an unforgettable weekend in Washington D.C., 38 veterans on board Honor Flight
Nevada headed home to a hero’s welcome.

The group left Maryland Sunday morning and arrived in Las Vegas to change planes.  Dozens of people lined up at the gate to welcome the W.W.II vets after getting of the plane.

Southwest Airlines surprised the group by sending ‘Nevada One’ to pick up the veterans and bring them home.

Hundreds of people gathered to welcome the veterans in one of the biggest celebrations of its kind for Honor Flight Nevada.

Honor Flight Nevada is a non-profit organization that uses public donations to send veterans to Washington D.C. to see their memorials at no cost to the veterans.
